What to Expect?
Our goal is to give you practical knowledge on navigating professional life in Norway, finding job opportunities, and taking the right steps to achieve your career goals. With expert-led talks and interactive workshops, you'll walk away with tools and insights you can apply right away. Also, you'll get to meet other internationals living in the Oslo region and build connections along the way!
Day 1: Personal Branding
On the first day, you’ll hear from Gabriella Mikiewicz, a communication strategist and community manager with extensive experience in strategic communications, humanitarian campaigning, and digital engagement. Gabriella, who you know from Unlock Norway, will lead a session on how to build your personal brand. Through group work and individual exercises, you'll learn to highlight your past experiences and education, and together, we'll create your power pitch—a strong, clear introduction that tells your story effectively.
Day 2: Career, Education & Entrepreneurship
The second session will focus on finding job opportunities and starting your own business in Norway. Emma Jackson, with over three decades of experience in human resources and career development, will offer insights into job searching strategies in Norway, sharing practical tips to help you stand out to employers.
For those interested in entrepreneurship, Tumi Sineke—a dynamic community builder and startup leader—will share her journey of becoming self-employed in Norway. Tumi’s mission is to help leaders and community builders integrate inclusion and belonging in their work. She’ll offer practical guidance on what it takes to start your own business and how to get started.
The workshops are made possible by grants for the development of qualification and integration measures from The Directorate of Integration and Diversity (IMDI), and funding from Oslo kommune and the Oslo Region Alliance.
