Campus Life
Campuses and the city are home to stunning libraries where you can study, read, or relax. In addition to studying at your campus library, you can also enjoy city libraries, such as Deichman's libraries in Oslo or the National Library of Norway.
Each library offers incredible interiors, a wide range of books, scholarly resources, and access to computers. Deichman Bjørvika stands out with its modern amenities, including media rooms, lounges, gaming spaces, and more.
Campuses often feature gyms with saunas and swimming pools, where students get discounted prices, as well as canteens where you can buy a warm meal at an affordable price with your student card. However, don't be surprised to see Norwegian students bringing their matpakke or packed lunch. It's very common in Norway to bring your own meal.
What each university campus offers can vary, but you can typically expect study rooms, libraries, access to scholarly resources, lounges for relaxation, computers you can use in a library, and a canteen.
Health Services
Students planning to stay in Norway for over six months and who are registered in the National Registry will automatically be assigned a General Practitioner (GP). Your GP is your first point of contact for health checks or consultations. If specialized care is necessary, they will provide a referral to a specialist or hospital. It’s important to note that a consultation fee applies to all GP visits.
Students who have paid the semester fee can access SiO Health Services, which offer a range of healthcare support tailored to student needs.
Student Services
Support services are vital for helping international students thrive both academically and socially. Joining student organizations is a fantastic way to build community, participate in events, and access valuable resources.
The Oslo region fosters an inclusive community that welcomes diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Take advantage of academic services such as tutoring, mentorship programs, and career advice to maximize your educational experience.
If you’re interested in learning Norwegian, universities offer courses tailored for international students. These not only teach the language but also introduce you to Norwegian culture and provide opportunities to connect with fellow students.
